Terro contains an ingredient similar to Boric Acid. Boric Acid has the toxicity of table salt. So basically, it's not that dangerous, or at least not any more dangerous than salt. If pets or children drink it (we have never had a report of this - ever), it probably would do nothing to them. In large quantities ( the same with salt), it could make them sick.

The best advice is to keep them away from the trays, or at least put the trays in areas where they cannot reach, such as inside cabinets, on top of counters, etc.

The end with the large tray is snipped with a pair of scissors. The tray is then left opened and in an upward position. Unfortunately it spills easy, so be careful!

Hi there (again!),
I apologize for the reduntancy, it's this product my puppy chewed the plastic end off and most probably at the most 1/3 of it's contnets (white crystal boric acid). Again, I believe you answered this question with someone else many years ago..wanted to double check, should I take her in? It happened at around 2 am, and it's been about 12 hours now. She seems a little lethargic, tired..but I think okay. What's your take?

The active ingredient is Boric Acid, its about the same toxicity as table salt. It's not inherently poisonous. I would just make sure that the puppy is not vomiting, has diarrhea, etc. If so, then you may need to go see the vet. If not, just give it lots of love and hugs, and some water... :-)

If Pharoah ants feed on the bait over along enough period of time, then there will be an affect on their population. The thing to remember is that with any ant population, if the ants are active, then there is already an existing food source. This means that the ants have to accept your NEW food source before it dries or evaporates.

Any liquid bait that is not in a closed evaporation proof container such as the KM Ant Pro Dispenser will be exposed to air and the elements. It will dry, harden and begin to evaporate within hours. Using an open air container such as Terro provides will not prevent this.
