The KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait System is approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and is United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Organic Program Food Crop Compliant.

Build your own army against ants!  This patented and extremely effective liquid ant feeding station kills and gets rid of Argentine, Ghost, Crazy, White footed, Carpenter, Pharaoh and other exotic and invasive ants with ease! Also kills cockroaches and other insect pests. The KM Ant Pro dispenses a liquid bait (sold separately) that gives ants and insects what they want - a sweet nectar based food source that mimics honeydew secreted by aphids that is commonly found on plants and flowers. This bait also contains a mild toxin that is carried back to the queens and the colony. The KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait System gives ants an unlimited supply of ant bait in a durable outdoor station that will last season after season.

KM Ant Pro Liquid Bait dispensers placed around the home or building is like having your own natural defense against ants, eliminates the need for toxic sprays, is target specific and safe for the environment.  The dispensers with Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait have been tested and endorsed by the University of California Statewide Extension and is recommended by California Master Gardeners to the general public.

How It Works:
The KM Ant Pro Liquid Bait dispenser is a highly durable, rugged outdoor liquid ant bait station which provides consistent long term ant and insect control. The KM Ant Pro is refillable and will provide years of dependable service when maintained correctly.

When the KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispenser is filled with liquid bait and activated, a small quantity of bait is released into a feeding pool at the base. As the ants consume the bait, the reservoir refills the feeding pool automatically. The KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait feeding tray provides insects 360° access to the feeding pool. The vacuum gravity feed reservoir provides enough bait to feed several ant colonies over a long period of time. Also, numerous species of ants and insects will feed at the stations at the same time.

The KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispenser is weather tolerant and is also tamper resistant. It comes with an attachable stake that fits snugly on the base to secure it to the ground.

In agricultural and garden applications, large areas can be treated with KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Stations without having to spread pesticides on crops and pastures where livestock live and graze. Orchards and harvesting areas are safer for workers and food is not contaminated by insecticides. In agricultural applications, the cost of control for imported fire ants, Argentine ants, white-footed ants and many other species of ants is significantly reduced. Simply place the KM Ant Pro Station where it is needed, next to plants and along crop rows and let it do its job.

Kills Ants in and Around Homes and Gardens:
KM Ant Pro's will eliminate ants and other insects from around the premises, in gardens and other pesticide sensitive areas and provide a barrier to re-infestation. The KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait stations will destroy ant colonies. Since these stations are exceptionally durable, can be refilled, and used over an extended period of time.

How To Use:
The KM Ant Pro Ant Bait Dispenser combined with Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait is designed to replace ants' natural feeding sources. Ants will feed on plant juices, honeydew, insects, etc. from many outdoor sources. The recommended minimum number of KM Ant Pro stations is 1 per side of structure, or 1 station every 2500 square feet of open space. 4 KM Ant Pro stations are recommended for homes under 2,000 square feet, 6 KM Ant Pro stations for homes up to 4,000 square feet and 1 additional KM Ant Pro station for every 1,000 square feet thereafter.

Build your own Ant Bait System!
* Use 1 KM Ant Pro dispenser on each side of home or every 2500 square feet
(#1 Recommended) Medium size homes get the 4 + 2 pack kit.
* Small Homes, apartments under 2,000 square feet - get the 3 +1 Kit.

The KM Ant Pro Bait system is designed to be an outdoor feeding system that provides a source of carbohydrates in the form of a liquid ant bait. The foraging ants pick up this bait and carry it back to the nest - killing them.

Hi,

I've been purchasing the KM Ant Pro Liquid Bait for a few years now and they worked well especially early on. However, I have several stations out this season and there's been zero activities. I just cheched on the stations and the ants have not taken any bait.

In the past, when ants didn't show any interest in the stations, I've added chicken or beef stock (as per your customer service) and that's made a difference. This year, I have a few stations with just the liquid, ,and a few stations with added beef stock, but no interest from the ants whatsoever.

Also, all stations were cleaned thoroughly before I put them out.

That's 4 bottles sitting idle with ants running rampant. What do you suggest?

Thanks.

Worker ants are not specifically attracted by anything other than what are called "trail pheromones". These pheromones are basically a set of instructions given out by the "scout ants" as to where to feed. Since workers can only feed on liquids and cannot eat solid foods, they will consume some liquid but also fill their gut with liquid and return to the colony where it is given to the immature ants. The immature ants are basically larvae. They have no legs, eyes, arms, etc. They are similar to a fly maggot. The immatures then digest this material or food and regurgitate a liquid that is fed to the workers and the queens, brood, etc. If the immature ants die during this process, then the colony is "alarmed" that there is poison in the food source. It is a very sophisticated system. Its not as simple as just placing "broth" into the liquid mix.

The KM Ant Pro system is not designed to be used indoors. It is only designed to be used outdoors. It provides a natural feeding site for ants when the dispensers are placed under shrubs, trees, decks and in shaded areas.

Most ants don't feed indoors. They may be living indoors, but they go outdoors for food sources. Indoor "Gel" baits such as Advion or Maxforce Ant Killer Bait Gel work ok indoors, but they don't always solve the problem for this reason.

Carpenter ants that live indoors do not feed indoors. They will go outside in search of food sources. This is why the KM Ant Pro will work outdoors to kill carpenter ants indoors. As the ants go outside in search of food sources, they will find the stations and feed. We do not recommend to place them indoors. Use them outdoors and you will have success.

A very large nest is living around a huge aloe plant in our back yard, not near the house. Obviously, the aloe is their source of water in this drought & we'd hate to remove it. Have seen a few ants visiting the station over the past 5 months but still seeing large swarms of ants when we water the area. The ant station is sitting on flat, shady ground 2 feet from the aloe plant. Checked the amount of liquid bait recently, still was half full after the last refill in November. What are we not doing correctly?

Thanks for your expertise, Pat & Tom Schuessler See more »

Typically, when argentine ants are not feeding on the stations, it is because either the station is not set correctly - ie the base is too tight and there is no available bait in the drip tray, or it is because the ants simply are not interested in the bait because they have an alternative food source.

Gourmet liquid ant bait is a fantastic bait, but it will not replace natural food sources. If the aloe plant is their source of water, and or food, then we may have to use a repellent such as garlic, rosemary, clove, etc sprayed on the plant to force them away from it. But you have to be careful to not spray it anywhere near the stations.

Many thanks in advance for the help!

I placed four KM Ant Pro Liquid Bait Dispensers around my the outside of my house and well pump about three days ago, and put in about 16oz of liquid bait in each. I saw signs of leakage around two of them (dark patch on the ground next to the bait station), so checked them and turns out that those two bait stations were empty (the other two still had plenty in them). I followed the installation instructions to the letter (staked first, inverted and filled the unit & then put on the base and fully tightened it, put upright onto the stake, opened 180 degrees [arrows were lined up] and tightened the lock xxxx ) - to my knowledge no-one has disturbed them. The ground is pretty flat for all four (see attached photo for one of them that emptied), so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what happened. I'm experimenting by filling those two with water to see if they leak again, but otherwise would love some pointers as to what may have gone wrong and how to rectify the problem.

Thanks so much!
Todd

Hi Todd, a couple of things come to mind -

1) Do the dispensers have a rubber O ring in the base? If not then this is the problem.
2) Are the dispensers sitting evenly on the ground or are they at an angle?
3) Are there any cracks in the plastic bulb or base?

Unfortunately, what you are dealing with is similar to a Tsunami. It will take a large concentrated effort to get them under control. The only product capable of doing this is the KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispenser and Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait. There is nothing else that will even come close to getting any kind of control.

For acreages, the normal number of Ant Pro Dispensers needed is 8-12 per acre. So with 100 acres, you will need approximately 120 dispensers. If you are interested in doing this, I can have the manufacturer contact you and work with you.

The directions for the KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispensers says they must be located in shade. Three sides of my house, east, south, and west, have sun at times (the south side all day). Can the KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispensers only be located on the north side of my house? See more »

Ants are not usually going to feed in direct sunlight. So the answer to your question is usually yes. They need to be placed in areas where ants will normally feed undisturbed. This is usually in cool moist areas under shrubs, decks, trees, etc. Ants will usually not feed in areas of direct sunlight, on rocks, cement, sand, etc. Think like an ant and ask yourself, if I were an ant, where would I prefer to feed? This is always the best way to figure out where to place them.

If you have to place them in direct sunlight, then placing them under something that can provide shade such as an upside down trash can, flower pot, barrel, etc. can sometimes work. Be sure to cut holes in the side to allow the ants to enter… See full answer »

Where To Place KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispensers:
Place KM Ant Pro Stations under shrubs, near trees, in gardens and other areas where ants will normally feed. It is very important to place the stations in SHADED areas and not in direct sunlight. If no shade is available, then make a shaded area by using a large bucket or trash container and placing it over the station. Once feeding starts, control usually begins in 30 days.

How To Activate and Use KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Station:
See installation and operation guide for more detailed instructions
While holding the top unit (bulb) upside down, fill it 1/2 full (16 oz) with liquid bait, attach the base and hand tighten until snug. The KM Ant Pro is now in the closed position. Turn the entire station right side up, set in place, then rotate the bulb one half turn in the opposite direction while holding the base in place. This activates the unit. Tighten the set screw firmly. If desired, insert the holding stake into the bottom of the base. Place KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Kit anywhere in a shaded area that ants are active. Do not place units in direct sunlight. Do not install units where damage from animals, dogs or pets may occur. Do not use KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Kit indoors. Replace liquid ant bait when KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Kit is empty or every 90 days, whichever comes first.

How To Deactivate KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Station:
Loosen the set screw and rotate the bulb back to the closed position. Turn the station upside down and unscrew the bulb. Replace the bait and repeat the steps for activation. Set the unit in the new location, turn it the opposite direction and align the arrows to re-activate. Tighten the set screw.

How Much Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait To Use:
The KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait dispenser is designed to hold up to 1 quart of liquid ant bait. For most ant populations, using as little as 1 pint (16 oz) of liquid ant bait per dispenser is recommended. Studies show that 1 pint of liquid ant bait will feed up to 220,000 ants. Make sure that when you fill the KM Ant Pro stations, your hands are clean and there are no residues from gasoline, oil, cigarette smoke, etc. Replace the bait every 90 days for best results and long term control.

When To Replace Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait:
Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait is the number 1 bait tested and recommended for use with the KM Ant Pro Liquid Ant Bait Dispensers. It is a food grade bait that contains natural enzymes, carbohydrates and ingredients that attract and recruit ants to feed. For best long term results, replace the Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait every 90 days. In late fall or winter, simply deactivate the stations and wash with regular tap water (no soap) and dry. Replace the Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait and re-activate the KM Ant Pro stations in early spring for season long control. Be sure to replace the Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait (available in quarts and gallons) every 90 days.
