Contrac All-Weather BLOX is a single-feeding anticoagulant rodenticide containing the active ingredient, Bromadiolone. Unsurpassed in rodent acceptance and control, Contrac Blox is an excellent clean-out and maintenance bait to control mice and rats, including warfarin-resistant Norway rats.

Bell Contrac All Weather Blox Uses / Applications:
Single Dose Feeding For Rats & Mice. Each bait block weighs approximately 1 oz.

RATS: Use 3 to 6 CONTRAC BLOX at intervals of 15 to 30 feet per placement. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of feeding stop.

MICE: Place 1 block per placement. Space placements at 8 to 12 foot intervals. Two CONTRAC BLOX may be needed at points of very high mouse activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of feeding stop.

18 Lb bucket contains enough bait to kill hundreds of rats and mice. This large size is generally for commercial use or for the homeowner who wants to have extra rodent bait for that large job. Individual bait pieces ARE pre-drilled for use in rodent bait stations that contain wire bait mounts.

Bell Contrac All Weather Blox Active Ingredient:

One of my cats has died in my barn recently and although the bait stations are empty, was wondering if rat bait causes secondary poisoning. See more »

Secondary poisoning is a problem with most of the older generation rodenticides but NONE of the newer generation rodenticides.

Secondary poisoning is where a given poison is toxic enough to cause a kill in all animals that eat the same poison. So in essence, if the rat eats the poison and dies, then the cat eats the rat and dies, then the bird eats the cat and dies, then a dog eats the bird and dies, etc. All from a single dose of poison.

None of the newer generation rodenticides do this. In fact, most require .5 - 1 oz of bait per lb of body weight to effect animals. That's why it usually takes 2-3… See full answer »

Do you ship to Canada, province, Ontario. If so, have you ever had issues with your product getting over the border? If that happens then what? How do you ship to Canada if you do? See more »

On average, about 3 out of every 100 orders are confiscated for various reasons. I can tell you that the weight, size and value will throw a red flag.

If it could be placed into an envelope and shipped, no worries.

Chances are that there will not be any issues. However, If it gets confiscated, we cannot be held liable.

There is no expiration date on the product since it is for agricultural use. Bell labs says that under most circumstances, it will remain effective for 3-4 years. This depends on where it is stored. We always recommend to store it in a cool dry location where it is away from children and pets.

Bell labs told me several years ago that it takes 1 blok per lb of body weight to kill an animal. So if a rat that weighs 1 lb or less and eats a blok it will die. Dogs that weigh several pounds have to eat several blox. I have always used this example when I get these questions. My presumption is that while a few blox could make any dog sick, it will take around 1 blok per lb of body weight to kill them. So given your question, it could make the dog sick, but would take about 40 blox to kill it. I would not test this theory, but if the dog has any kind of issues like diarrhea, vomiting, lethargic, etc, I would certainly make a trip to the vet. If there are no symptoms such as this, then just give him some water and food and watch him a few days.

No, we do not recommend using any rodent bait regardless of what it is around pets or children. The hazard is just too much. We recommend traps only around pets such as the Trapper T Rex - http://www.epestsupply.com/cgi-bin/sh...

You can place rat traps inside of a box or even inside a rodent bait station to keep the dogs away. This is the safest and best way to get rid of rats or mice around pets.

Not recommended. You COULD do this, however if the rats eat the bait and die in the attic, then there will be a horrible odor to deal with. A better solution is to use traps and bait stations outdoors. The rats will have to go outside at some point for food and water. If you bait and or trap them outdoors, then the chances of having an odor issue are greatly diminished.

Typically rats and mice start dying 2-4 days after they consume a lethal amount. A lethal amount is 1 oz per lb of body weight. So basically, they don't have to eat much.

“This trap seems a lot more professional than the ones we've used in the past. In fact, it is the same as the ones our exterminator used.”
