I have never heard of carpet beetles hiding in hair. If you find some beetle in your hair, it could be any variety of dermistid beetles. Not all are harmful, and it could have ended up there by accident. I doubt that this is anything to worry about. If you wash and dry your hair daily, then that is enough to kill most insects.

It depends on how much you apply. This kit is designed to treat an average size 2000 square foot home 2-3 times. If you apply properly, you can probably get up to 3 treatments.

The Demand CS will make 2 gallons of spray, enough for 2-3 treatments, and the CB80 will provide enough spray to fog closets, rooms, etc, multiple times. It will fog your entire home 3 times if performed correctly.

The traps and the Insect Guard only need to be replaced every 3 months or so… See full answer »

I have two dogs and am wondering if they should be removed during this process, or once the application is dry if it is safe for pets. See more »

During the application of any wet residual spray such as with the PesTabs, people and pets need to be removed from the premises during application and until it has completely dried. If only treating a closet or a room, then just remove them from that area. If doing the entire house, then get them out.

The CB 80 is for spot applications or fogging of closets, rooms, etc. The same goes for this. Keep them out of the area until the fog has completely dissipated. Usually about 30 minutes. Then let the area completely air out by opening doors, windows, etc. to let fresh air in if possible.

No, there is very little odor with any of these products. Moth balls contain napthalene, a very strong aromatic product, that's why it smells so bad. We don't sell anything like moth balls.

Products such as Precor 2625 and Ultracide are designed to be used on carpets and both contain an IGR - growth regulator. The kit that we sell is really designed more for clothes moth infestations.

Precor 2625 is safe when used properly and is also labeled for use on carpets, floors and bedding for fleas. It is pet safe when use properly.

Hope this helps… See full answer »

Generally, a hot dryer is all that is needed to kill most insects. If the clothing temperature gets hot, then that is all that is needed to kill the eggs, larvae and pupae.

Washing is not always necessary, but can help.

Dry cleaning will also kill most insects.

I live in Michigan and have noticed a few of these creatures. I think they may have come from a hallway linen closet. But that closet is always open and the towels in that closet are all white and always being used and/or cleaned. I have not seen anything flying around that resembles a moth. I have been cleaning and vacuuming and throwing out towels repeatedly over the past two months. And I still see them in the bathroom crawling around and/or on clean white towels. Please tell me if you think they are clothes mothes and what to do next. Thank you so much! See more »

Its really hard to determine what it is from the picture. Even after I blew the picture up I still could not tell what it was. It definitely could be the larval stage of a moth. If you have any expensive wool sweaters, socks, jackets, etc, I would recommend to at least look at them and see if you find any damage. If so, then there is a complete protocol you have to follow. So at the very least inspect your clothes for damage, and consider hanging some clothes moth traps in the closets in which these clothes are stored. The moth traps won't eliminate the problem, but they will attract moths and let you know if there is an infestation starting to occur. I have a clothing & case moth problem + carpet beetles, wondering if this would cover all? See more »

Yes, this kit will kill most species of moths including case making clothes moths. The trick to eliminating an infestation of case making clothes moths is to go through all of the clothing and inspect each piece individually. If any signs of infestation or damage are found, either send the clothes to the cleaners or get rid of them. This is only for clothes that contain wool.

Once the individual garments are either cleaned or bug free, seal them up in a plastic bucket or suit bag. This is necessary until the infestation is gone. Hope this helps.

If the clothes are not salvageable to the point where they can be given to homeless shelters, etc, the only option is the trash can....
