Temprid FX Insecticide Uses/Applications:

Crawling Insects: Cockroaches, Crickets, Silver-fish, Spiders, and other listed pests: Use a coarse, low-pressure spray (do not exceed 50 psi at nozzle tip). Treat entry points such as around water pipes, doors, windows, and eaves. Treat areaswhere pests normally feed or hide such as baseboards, corners, around water pipes, under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, and stoves, being sure to spray cracks and crevices. Spot treat floor or rugs beneath furniture, in closets, and storage areas, but do not apply to entire floor area. For more difficult to control pests, like certain spiders, direct contact spray is required for effective control.

Mosquitoes: (including mosquitoes that may transmit Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, and West Nile virus): Treat with spray or mist around landscape plants, turf, and ground cover, under decks, around building foundations, and other places where mosquitoes may rest.

Scorpions: Apply as a perimeter treatment to exterior walls and adjacent soil, to known or suspected harborages of scorpions. Apply spot treatments into cracks, crevices, weep holes, or other access points into hollow block walls or masonry veneer. When possible, remove piles of debris and building materials near the exterior wall that can harbor the pests. You may treat around piles of firewood, but do not treat firewood with this product.

I bought a secondhand daybed frame about 2 weeks ago. About 1 1/2 wks ago I started noticing bites on my daughter. I contacted Orkin and they came in and confirmed bed bugs in the room the daybed was in. Nobody else in the house has gotten bitten, but there is a bedroom next door. My daughter who sleeps in that next door room that did not have the infested daybed has not received any bites to date. My husband is going to buy some Diatomaceous Earth locally today. I am trying to decide which spray to purchase additionally. I read good reviews about Temprid SC. But it is pricey. Are there other, equally as effective sprays you would recommend?

If you contacted Orkin then you know how expensive bed bug treatments can be. Temprid is a combination pesticide meaning that it contains 2 active ingredients. Both work in different ways. Tempo contains a single active ingredient. So for the money, Temprid (which contains Tempo) is going to be more expensive. The benefit is that it works better for bed bugs than Tempo alone.

When treating for bed bugs, cost should not be a concern. If you try to save money (such as applying DE), you will get frustrated and end up spending more than you would have originally. It's just how it works… See full answer »

Once Temprid has completely dried there should be no issues. We have never had a report of any harm to people or pets with Temprid. Safe in my opinion.

Yes. It needs to be applied every 2 weeks for at least 3 applications. I normally recommend to rotate chemicals on each of these applications and use something different so that the Bed Bugs don't build any resistance to it. The normal treatment by most pest companies is 3 treatments (minimum) schedule 2 weeks apart until all signs of infestation are gone. All Bed Bugs need to be vacuumed up after each treatment. If you find dead Bed Bugs after that, you then know that they are still there but are dying. Continue this vacuuming after each treatment until you can find no signs of dead or live Bed Bugs at all.

Hi,
I read that Temprid FX should not be used on walkways or sidewalks; only 3 feet up and around the foundation according to label.
My exteriminator applied it in my front and backyard as well as the steps leading into my basement, along with the corridor leading to said basement. They are all made of concrete.
He did not seem concerned and this was per usual for him. I did not question him.
Why can Temprid FX not be used on sidewalks and walk ways (concrete)? The label doesn't explain why, it simply states not to use it in that way.
I'm curious as I would like to apply it myself.

Thanks for your help regarding this matter.

Regards,
Daniel See more »

This type of wording on pesticide labels is becoming more and more common. Basically, the fear is that by applying to cement surfaces outdoors, rain can wash it into storm drains and therefore contaminate, pollute or "contribute" to high pesticide levels in lakes.

Pesticides, fertilizers, even grass clippings all contribute to lake and water supply pollution. Not only does it effect wildlife such as fish, these things can make a lake unsuitable…

Typically you can apply any concentrated pesticide as long as the water it is mixed in is not frozen.

The best time to apply is when insects are active, that is generally when temperatures are warm and above 50 degrees. Indoors this product can be applied almost any time.

Due to Canadian pesticide regulations, we no longer ship into Canada. However, we can ship to a location on the State of the border and you can hand carry across. This is legal in Canada.

This product can be mixed at different rates depending on the pest you are trying to kill. It can be mixed at a low rate and you can get up to 50 gallons of diluted spray or at a high rate (double rate) and get 25 gallons. Typically, 1 gallon of spray will cover about 1,000 square feet. So do the math - at the low rate about 50,000 square feet or the low rate about 25,000 square feet. It all depends on how strong you mix it. It can be used with a surfactant type foaming agent, but not with a biological foaming agent containing enzymes if that's what you are referring to.
