I'm having a "house mice" problem since removing their food source out in my barn. I have taken away all chances of getting food in my home, but they still want to live with us. I've never had more than one mouse show up during the winter and am overwhelmed now. We've only caught a few (on glue traps) because the mice are out-smarting the glue traps (even if I bait the glue trap). I need a pet-safe-trap that I can bait with pieces of dog food or cat food. Mice are nibblers and prefer grains. Oats, milo, corn, and even peanuts and peanut butter are much better than dog food. We also carry professional lures such as the Pro Pest Lures and also Provoke Mouse Lure. I wish I could tell that dog food or cat food would work, and maybe it will, but it is not the best lure. Any mouse trap will work if the right lure is used.

The Ketchall Mouse trap can be baited by placing the bait inside of the catch area. Just slide the outer panel up and then place the bait into this area, then slide it back down. Works every time (almost)… See full answer »

The Ketch-all is not a rat trap, even though it will catch small adult field rats and adolescent roof or norway rats. The Ketch-all is specifically designed to capture mice. It captures up to 15 mice in a single setting.

I couldn't tell from the description though someone mentioned glue boards in a review. I avoid glue traps or poison because dying in panic or pain over a period of days is not humane, IMO. Would be great to find a multi mouse trap the kills as instantly as spring trap. I've used live traps extensively over the years, but disposal in a place where they don't return to my or someone else's house has become difficult. I guess what I want to know if this is a live or instant kill trap or does it rely on glue poison or other slow-kill method. Thank you in advance for your help! See more »

It is a live trap. The problem is that sometimes, it kills the mice. There is not a single trap on the market or available commercially that I have found that captures mice with no harm - that works.

There is no drowning attachment available for the Ketchall. A simple dunk in a bucket works, or just take the ketchall somewhere and let them go. (politically correct answer).

Ketchall mouse traps will rust over time and not work. It sounds like it needs to be replaced.
