Termidor HE improves productivity with a new molecular technology that creates an Enhanced Protection Zone with less water, smaller trenches, wider drill hole spacing, and shallower minimum treatment depths.

However challenging the job, Termidor® HE termiticide cuts time and labor to make your work easier. Its breakthrough molecular technology allows for half the water, 50% shallower treatment depths, 33% fewer drill holes, and 77% smaller trenches.

For more than a decade, Termidor Termiticide/Insecticide has set the standard for termite control efficacy. Simply put, no other termite control product in existence is more effective at controlling termites and protecting homes from termite damage.

Termidor HE redefines termiticide application precision, volume, labor and time by taking liquid termiticide application to the next level.

This is applied using half the water, with no reduction in active ingredient to the soil. It allows for 77% smaller trenches, 33% fewer drill holes, and 50% shallower minimum treatment depths.

These radically streamlined application techniques are made possible by the unique chemistry of Termidor HE that helps improve the dispersal of the active ingredient and creates an Enhanced Protection Zone.

Termidor HE Benefits:
* Termidor HE is dispersed more evenly through the soil than standard liquid termite treatments, creating an Enhanced Protection Zone.
* Termidor HE "locks" to the soil around homes where it stays put and stays effective.
* Has the potential to save millions of gallons of water every year.
* Ensures a more precise application of termiticide around homes.
* Reduces the need for much of the disruption, digging, and drilling around homes.
* Termidor HE is the latest innovation in Termidor technology.

- Less Water: 2 Gallons Per 10 Linear Feet - In the case of a 200 linear foot home, as few as 40 gallons (333 pounds) of finished solution are needed with Termidor HE, versus as many as 80 gallons (666 pounds) with industry standard treatments (refers to Termidor SC or Termidor 80 WG).

- Smaller Trenches: 2-inches Deep by 4-inches Wide - In the case of a 200 linear foot home, the amount of soil that needs to be removed and replaced with Termidor HE is approximately one ton less than with industry standard treatments. (Calculations based on average weight of soil at 78 pounds per cubic foot.)

- Wider Spacing for Drilling and Rodding: 18-inches - For every 10 linear feet, 3.3 fewer drill holes are required with Termidor HE versus industry standard treatments. This means, for a 200 linear foot home, as many as 66 fewer drill holes, or 33% fewer drill holes, are required.

- Shallower Minimum Treatment Depth: 2-Feet - For footings more than 2 feet below grade, trench/rod into the trench or trench alone along foundation to minimum depth of 2 feet. Like with other Termidor products, depth of treatment will vary depending on various factors (see label).

Termidor HE Target Pests:
Subterranean, arboreal, drywood and dampwood termites including species of Reticulitermes, Coptotermes, Heterotermes, nasutitermes, and Zootermopsis.

I have a new home builder that wants to treat the framed houses because he did not do a pretreatment. is this effective?

As far as a preventive treatment, a complete treatment under the surface area of the house is the standard. This includes spraying all of the soil and creating a chemical "barrier" between the house foundation and the soil. Treatment of anything less than this is not considered a "pre-treatment" but is considered a "post-treatment". Treating only the outside foundation of the house using Termidor can control them, however much depends on the actual construction of the home and the final landscaping after construction.

Treatment of the wood inside the house would have to be performed using Bora Care and not Termidor. This can also be beneficial, but has to be performed BEFORE any sheetrock has been installed. Treatment of the sill plates and studs up to about 3 feet from the foundation floor is the standard. Also most companies use a… See full answer »

It had a bottle of Termidor and a bottle of HE chemical attached behind it. This appears to only be 1 bottle. Where's the second Bottle? See more »

BASF has changed the formula and there is no longer a second adjuvant. Only 1 bottle to make it easy to mix and apply.

Yes, Termidor HE can be applied to above ground and aerial termites in wood. Use a .0125% concentration. Here is a link to the label - http://www.cdms.net/ldat/ldAQ4005.pdf

At the full rate of .0125%, you mix 79 oz in 50 gallons of water. This treats (vertical barrier) 125 linear feet. This is per the label directions. The treatment application would be 2 gallons per 10 linear feet.

Slug/ snail treatment See more »

When Termidor is applied as a Termiticide it will be slightly below the surface of the soil. It won't have much activity against insects that are above the surface or on the ground. Termidor SC can be applied as a spray to the surface of the soil 1 foot out and 1 foot up from the foundation. This may have some activity against snails and slugs. Termidor has good effectiveness against ants, cockroaches, spiders, etc.

We own a 19th century house in middle Tennessee and have just had two pest control companies come out to give us plans and prices for termite protection. We currently have part of the flloor removed in the dining room for repairs and there is evidence of severe damage in a few floor joists, but it is from some time in the past and there is no sign of currect termite activity. There is a small cellar but most of the house simply rests above a crawl space and there are some areas that are not even accessible via crawl space. One Company wants to install a Sentricon perimeter around the house, the garage, and another little building. The second company wants to spray with Termador HE. The Termador is less expensive by several hundred dollars and less per year for follow up inspections.

Do you have any guidance to offer? I'm new to termite issues.

Thank you so much. See more »

This is the old "bait" VS "liquid" treatment question. Here is the bottom line - they both work. By "work" I mean that they will both control termites. If the damage is old damage, and there are no current termites, then the treatment becomes a preventive treatment.

The question then becomes which do you prefer?

Termidor will last up to 15 years in the soil under normal conditions. This almost eliminates the need for any regular treatments. Annual inspections of the… See full answer »

Termidor SC is not labeled to be used in any bait mix. It is a liquid concentration only to be used as a liquid spray or drench to wood, soil and as a perimeter treatment according to the label directions. That is my disclaimer.

On a different note, Fipronyl is used as flea and tick topical application to dogs. The amount of Fipronyl needed to cause acute poisoning is fairly significant.

If a dog ingests Fipronyl, I would recommend to observe the dog for signs of acute poisoning such as diarrhea, vomiting, lethargicness, sleepiness, etc. If you… See full answer »

I had my house treated last week. Upon closer inspection it looks like the exterminator applied the termidor HE directly into a garden along the side of the house. Should I not consume the plants? See more »
avatar
RonDawson  •
If the plants are farther than 5 feet away there should be no problem. If closer, then I would be cautious about eating anything this year. Termidor does not leach from the soil and HE is applied at a lower rate of water, so spreading is not much of an issue either.

As the old saying goes.... there are two kinds of homes. Those that have termites and those that will have termites. The question is that if you don't treat preventively, how much damage will you have to repair when you find them?

My recommendation is to treat preventatively. The best prevention is not Termidor, it is with a bait system such as Hex Pro or Sentricon. That's my opinion and I sell all three.
